While you’re free to explore and enjoy your time in a new country, we ask students to fill out travel forms if they plan on traveling outside of the city. This is not to micromanage or treat you like you’re not capable adults—quite the opposite! It’s about ensuring that we have a way to quickly check on your safety in case of an emergency, whether it’s a global situation or something local to the area you’re visiting.

Why Do We Require These Forms?

 

Our travel forms help us stay informed about where you are and what you’re doing, so that in the unlikely event of an emergency, we can ensure you’re safe and out of harm’s way. If a natural disaster, political unrest, or other emergency occurs in a region, having this information allows us to act quickly and appropriately.

 

While we trust that you will make responsible choices and take all necessary precautions when traveling, these forms are an extra layer of support for you, ensuring that we can provide assistance or check in with you if needed. It’s all about maintaining your safety and peace of mind during your time abroad.

How the Process Works

 

If you plan on leaving the city, all we ask is that you fill out a simple travel form with your destination, contact information, your travel dates, and the names of other program participants you’re traveling with. Only one person in your group needs to submit the form. Once submitted, we’ll have a record of your travel plans and can keep it on file. This way, we can quickly check your whereabouts and ensure you’re not in a potential danger zone in the event of an emergency
